Vince Marrow's latest anti-Kentucky tirade is proof that there's no love left to lose

I don't think the Big Blue Nation have any qualms with disconnecting themselves entirely from the Mark Stoops era of Kentucky Football. His successes came and gone, and what was left everywhere but the locker room was an outdated regime that needed to be replaced. Vince Marrow, although he left on his own fruition, was a member of that regime.

Kentucky recovered quickly from the betrayal of Marrow's move to Louisville and Stoops' departure with the hire of Will Stein, but that hasn't stopped Marrow from continuously finding ways to argue with Cats fans on social media. Just last night, he dropped a full-on tirade on X.

"All this crap about me loving Kentucky is crazy," Marrow said, responding to the notion that he was in Lexington for the most recent TBT game, between La Familia and The Ville, to cheer on the blue and white alumni.

"I went to support the Ville..." he continued, "All this other crap is straight BS!"

Naturally, Marrow raging against the BBN resulted in a storm of responses from the blue and white faithful, evidenced by the 180+ (and counting) replies to his post. But the real oddity is that, at the end of the day, it was Marrow who decided to leave for Kentucky's biggest rival.

His vitriol leaves even the most antagonizing Kentucky folks wondering what exactly they did to rile him up.

Marrow's Self-Inflicted Reputation in Lexington

Now, I want to be as clear as possible: Marrow is far from liked right now in and around Kroger Field. Building a reputation as a solid recruiter for the Wildcats and then leaving for the Cardinals when things get bad will do that to you, to be fair.

But the smoke around his name has basically doubled in negativity since he took to social media in the time that has followed his departure. It would be like leaving a sleeping bear, without much issue, and then coming back to poke it again and again.

In my opinion, all this "crap" is an earned result of that pattern. You get what you pay for, pretty much. What makes all of this worse is that Marrow and Louisville are actively behind Kentucky in the first full classes that each team have to compare.

Marrow and Louisville are Falling Behind Will Stein

According to 247Sports, Kentucky's 2027 recruiting class comes in at No. 21 in the nation. Louisville's, on the back of a more experienced staff, no less, is ranked down at No. 38. Now, that's not necessarily a bad position, but it should make it a little harder to openly chide a team above you.

Unless you're Vince Marrow, I suppose. Perhaps this love-to-hate relationship that the former Kentucky coach has with a fanbase that once loved him will eventually come back around into a positive form once more.

Maybe one day! But alas, that day is not today, and it certainly won't come so long as Marrow is calling the shots for the birds.
