One of the best players in the 2026 recruiting class is taking a visit to Kentucky over the weekend and will be in attendance for the top-10 matchup of Kentucky vs. Florida. Anthony Thompson is a 5-star 6'7 forward out of Hudson, Ohio. He is currently ranked the 9th best player in the class by 24/7 Sports.

Not a lot is known about what Thompson is thinking for college right now. He has offers from basically everyone, including Auburn, Kansas, Illinois, Alabama, Louisville, Michigan, Ohio State, Clemson, and so many more programs. He has only taken one other visit to this point, and that was to Indiana, where he took in the game against Winthrop.

This visit to Kentucky is a big one for the Wildcats as it's one of now two schools he has made the effort to attend and check out. He will also be taking in a top-10 matchup against Florida, and Rupp Arena will be rocking. Big Blue Nation is savvy with recruiting and will know that Thompson is in the building and will work to recruit him. It's one of the things that head coach Mark Pope has talked about regarding BBN: their recruiting efforts.

Thompson would be a big piece to the 2026 puzzle as he is a long, athletic forward who can play the wing and shoot the three. He is still growing and could even be someone who slides in and out of the key. His length would help in the defense, and his ability to score from all levels is something that Pope continues to look for in his players.

While it doesn't look like Thompson is even close to making a decision, being one of the early schools to secure a visit is huge for Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats.
