Time running down, Kentucky needing a play, Tonie Morgan had the ball in her hands, and once again she came up clutch. When asked to walk the press through the last play, she smiled a little and said, "Coach called a play, came off the screen, didn't like what I saw. Saw the time winding down, I was like 'gotta make a play." And make a play she did:

She said she gave "a little step back, went in, and that was it." But that wasn't it, Morgan was fabulous all night long. She finished the game with a Kentucky-high 24 points on a perfect 3-3 from deep, 12 assists. But the most impressive stat was her zero turnovers.
When you have a 12-0 assist-to-turnover ratio on the road in the SEC against a top 5 team, you are putting in work.
Kenny Brooks and Tonie Morgan are 'joined at the hip'
Kenny Brooks said, "I'll add to that... she and I are getting to be joined at the hip...As I called the play, she asked me 'when do you want me to go' she said 'do you want me to go and shoot it when we have enough time for a rebound?' I said no... As soon as she let it go, I was right on line with the basketball, and I knew it was going in."
Last year, Kentucky was blessed with Georgia Amoore and Kenny Brooks' relationship. She became a coach on the floor, and it looks like Tonie Morgan is doing that for this year's team. Earlier this season, she had a program record 16 assists against South Carolina Upstate. Want to guess how many turnovers she had? Zero.
For the season, she has 118 assists and only 38 turnovers. For perspective, Braden Smith of Purdue has an NCAA-leading 123 assists and 37 turnovers. She is playing like the best point guard in college basketball, men or women.
If she continues on that path, Kentucky could be in for a very special season.
