The No. 17 Kentucky Wildcats (18-8, 7-6 SEC) couldn’t keep pace with No. 4 Alabama (21-5, 10-3 SEC), dropping a 94-79 decision at Coleman Coliseum in a game of runs. Kentucky led by 12 early in the first half, but a 29-10 Alabama run in the final 10 minutes flipped it to a 47-40 halftime deficit. The second half saw the Tide pull away with a 31-19 closing stretch, fueled by Mark Sears’ 30 points (11-of-11 free throws) and Aden Holloway’s 19 off the bench, while Kentucky’s Koby Brea led with 20 points and Amari Williams added 15 and 11 rebounds. Once again we see turnovers and effort cost the Cats down the stretch. Injuries have taken a toll, but the response has just been too mixed.

Injuries to Lamont Butler and Jaxson Robinson hurt of course, but it was Alabama’s 51.7% shooting and 24 points off turnovers sealed Kentucky’s fate, dropping them to 18-9 (7-7 SEC). —but Big Blue Nation’s real story erupted on X.
