The Cats and the Tide put on a show in Rupp Arena. It was the first time all season Kentucky went into half at home being down. Usually the last 4 minutes belong to the Cats, but Alabama turned that tide (pun intended).
Kentucky started off really strong, with a quick 7-2 run but then Alabama answered with an 11-0 run and the teams battled the rest of the way through an action packed first half. Amari Williams seemed to be pressing too much on the offensive end as he forced more than a few shots shooting just 3-8 in the first half. The effort was there though as he battled all half long, just needs a little bit more control.
Alabama went ice cold from 3 but then caught fire right before half to get their lead heading to half. Kentucky opened the second half like they did the first with intense defense and an offensive display that had Rupp rocking.
The Cats just could not get over that hump, dropping their first home game 102-97.

Now let's get to what you had to say:
The social media team was definitely working overtime in this one:

Kentucky has been involved in some classics this year:
I'll be real: I don't think I've ever seen a college basketball game with the intensity and shot-making to start the game like Bama-Kentucky today.

Not even UF-Kentucky a few weeks ago.
Every single possession one freakin' haymaker being delivered to the other.
BUCKLE UP.
This Kentucky vs Alabama basketball game has a tournament feel to it

Kentucky and Alabama are throwing absolute haymakers at one another, up and down the court. What a fun basketball game.
— Drew Mindell (@ICdrew) January 18, 2025
Kentucky is hitting some MASSIVE shots to stick right in striking distance. That’s what “just keep scoring” is all about.
— Brandon Ramsey (@BRamseyKSR) January 18, 2025
Defensive rebound. Make free throws. Take care of the basketball.
Time for a run!
Kentucky and Alabama going at it right now. Feels like a final four type of game. The SEC is very good at basketball this year 👀👀

SEC basketball, not denying it is full of talent, but the product is unwatchable.

Alabama - Kentucky took just about 2 1/2 hours and was a free throw fest.
I’m not upset about this loss. A lot of factors in that one that are a problem with sec officiating and basketball. The fire and the sting only makes these guys that much better we’ve seen that. They fight more than any Kentucky team I’ve seen in the last decade. GO CATS!

Alabama basketball responds after their early week home loss to Ole Miss- an impressive 102-97 win at Rupp. First road win by Bama vs a Top 10 Kentucky team since January 26, 2002.
