Former Kentucky linebacker Trevin Wallace heard his name called on Friday of the 2024 NFL Draft as he was selected 72nd overall in the 3rd round by the Carolina Panthers. Wallace is the second Kentucky player drafted on Friday,

Wallace finished his junior year with 80 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. He had four games with 10+ tackles.

In 2022 as a sophomore, Wallace had 54 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and two interceptions.

In his Kentucky career, Wallace had 166 tackles, 18.0 tackles for loss, 10.0 sacks, five quarterback hurries, three interceptions and two forced fumbles. He appeared in 36 games.

Wallace had a draft grade of 5.95 which equates to an 'average NFL backup or special-team' player.

"Height-weight-speed prospect with explosive physical traits but major issues with consistency," NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein wrote. "Wallace looks the part and can run and hit when he’s locked in. However, he struggles to diagnose plays and execute his responsibilities at a standard NFL level. Teams will like the traits and his potential to play special teams, but he will need to prove he can play with better instincts and recognition to make it in the pros."
