The Kentucky basketball program is set to kick off the official visit schedule for a top-15 prospect starting later this month.
Nate Ament, a five-star prospect in the 2025 class, will visit Kentucky August 28, according to KSR.com's Jacob Polacheck.
Ament became one of the top players in the class and saw his recruitment really heat up after a terrific spring and summer. He has offers from programs like North Carolina, Duke, UConn, Indiana, Florida State, Tennessee, Texas, Kansas, Louisville, Virginia and others.
Right now, he has just one additional visit set up, however. That is to Virginia September 14.
Mark Pope offered Ament on June 17 and since then, the relationship has taken off in a positive direction. That was thanks in part to a 41-point, 27-rebound and six-block performance in front of the Kentucky staff back at the DMV Live event.
Ament is a 6-foot-9 hybrid forward who is extremely versatile on both ends of the floor.
He kept his positive play this weekend at Under Armour's Elite 24 in Brooklyn, NY.
"He showed off his ability to shoot from deep, handle the ball and fluid movement early in the scrimmage," 247Sports National Director Eric Bossi wrote. "He faded a little as the scrimmage went on, but his wow moments were the type that most in the gym would have a hard time replicating. He'll maybe play some faceup four in college but long term he's looking like a jumbo wing who as good as he is, may just be scratching at the surface."
Ament is the No. 13 overall player in the 247Sports Composite Rankings for 2025.
It's clear Kentucky and head coach Mark Pope are going hard after some of the most talented players in the 2025 class. With likely numerous available spots on the roster, Pope knows he needs to add a terrific class next year in order to keep any momentum that he brings into the summer.
With the recruitment of Jasper Johnson looking like it's heading away from Lexington but Malachi Moreno's as solid as ever, it appears Ament is the next 5-star prospect to get a full court press from the Kentucky staff.
