The Kentucky women's basketball program released surprising news earlier this week in regards to a few injuries to notable transfers.

While Dominika Paurová will likely be out long term, there is a chance Penn transfer Jordan Obi could be back sooner.

Kentucky said both players would be 'out indefinitely' and on Wednesday, Obi addressed the injury news with reporters.

Obi said she would begin her rebah process 'next week' in hopes to get back sooner rather than later. She said the injury happened during a workout 'about a month ago'.

Obi didn't go into a lot of detail but she was wearing a cast on her left leg.

"I've never been injured before so it's been wild," Obi said. "Right now I'm in a headspace of taking it day-by-day until I get this thing (cast) off, start rehab and really attack that."

Obi is a transfer from Penn who played 83 games throughout her career. She averaged 13.7 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game over her career.

She had a terrific year a season ago, scoring in double-figures in 22 of 28 games played.

So, until she gets back on the court, she'll take this time to study the game even more than what she has and soak in everything while seeing it from a different perspective.

"Seeing the game differently," Obi said of what will change for her during her injury. " ... this is uncharted territory for me. It'll give me the ability to grow and give me mental fortitude ... watching it (practice), it's different and I think I'll be better for it."
