Report: BYU assistant coach Cody Fueger expected to join Mark Pope's Kentucky staff

Kentucky head coach Mark Pope has started to fill out his staff and while no official announcement will be made 'until next week' a name has emerged as the first assistant to join Pope.
According to KSR's Matt Jones, BYU assistant coach Cody Fueger will be joining Pope at Kentucky.
“I can confirm that former BYU Coach Cody Fueger will be one of Mark Pope’s three recruiting assistants and first member of staff,” Jones wrote. “He has also been talking to recruits today on behalf of Kentucky.”
Fueger has been with Pope since 2013, when he was the Director of Basketball Ops at BYU while Pope was an assistant coach.
Fueger then followed Pope to Utah Valley State and then back to BYU, where he's been since 2019.
Fueger has been known as one of the top up-and-coming coaches in Division I basketball for the last few seasons. He was also named one of the msot impactful mid major assistant coaches in Division I by Silver Waves Media in both 2022 and 2023.
Some notable All-Conference players that Fueger has helped develop have been Alex Barcello, Dallin Hall and Jaxson Robinson.
