Former Kentucky running back Ray Davis has taken the next step in his football career as he heard his name called in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Davis was selected by the Buffalo Bills with pick No. 128.

Davis is coming off of a terrific season with Kentucky. He was a Second-Team All-American by Sports Illustrated after totaling 1,129 yards on 199 carries and 14 rushing touchdowns. His rushing yards were 11th on Kentucky's single-season rushing list.

Davis also had 323 yards on 33 receptions with seven touchdowns. His 21 touchdowns total were a Kentucky single-season record.

He ranked third in the nation in total touchdowns and 15th in rushing touchdowns.

Before Kentucky, he played 31 total games between Vanderbilt and Temple. He finished his career with 4,388 all-purpose yards and 41 total touchdowns in 44 games.

Davis' NFL.com rating was 6.17 which equals a 'good backup with the potential to develop into starter'.

His overall 'production score' at the NFL Combine ranked fifth among all running backs.

"Three-down back with adequate blend of toughness between the tackles and production out of the backfield. Davis can be a tad indecisive at times but did a much better job of toggling between urgent and patient in his lone season at Kentucky," NFL.com analyst Lance Zierlein wrote. "The vision is fairly average, and he's not going to scare NFL defenses with his speed, but he does alter his pacing to create openings, and he'll finish with some thud behind his pads. Ultimately, he'll need to step up his pass protection to be trusted as a third-down option. Davis' compact frame, toughness and ability to catch the football could make him a middle-round option as a three-down backup with the ability to play a larger role in time."
