Along with Joe Hall’s four SEC Coach of the Year awards and 1978 national title, he can also boast a 20-9 postseason record.
Following in Rupp’s footsteps was a tall order for Hall but he fulfilled it nicely. Hall stayed in Kentucky for 13 seasons and found a lot of success for the Wildcats.
Hall resigned in 1985 saying that he didn’t want to be an old coach. Just after his time with Kentucky ended, the entire NCAA Tournament restructured so truly who knows just how many postseason wins Hall could have amassed.
