Kentucky is expected to make a big push for a veteran point guard in the transfer portal ... from one of its biggest rivals.

Duke senior guard Jeremy Roach entered the transfer portal on Tuesday night after four very successful and productive years.

The 6-foot-1 guard is expected to be pursued by Kentucky, according to KSR.com's Matt Jones who said, "Kentucky will be involved in this one."

Roach is coming off of his best season at Duke, averaging 14.0 points, 3.3 assists and shooting 42.9 percent from three. He also shot 46.8 percent from the field and 84.4 percent from the foul line on 3.5 attempts per game.

He was a Third-Team All-ACC selection this season. During Duke's Elite Eight run in the NCAA Tournament, Roach averaged 14.0 points, 4.3 assists and shot 33 percent from three in 37 minutes a game.

Roach averaged 13.6 points, 3.1 assists and shot 34.3 percent from three as a junior.

For his career, Roach averaged 11.3 points, 3.1 assits and shot 35.6 percent on 1.3 made 3s per game. He started 108 of 130 career games.

Kentucky is in need for a veteran guard, especially one with the body of work as Roach. The Wildcats have just two guards currently on the roster -- neither of which have played a second of college basketball (Travis Perry, Collin Chandler).
