4. Defense Overall: A

Even if it wasn't Georgia, holding your opponent to 13 points in college (or shoot, even the NFL) is hard to do. It's even more impressive when you consider it was against the #1 team in the nation. They limited the Bulldogs to 262 total yards and only allowed them to convert five 3rd downs. It wasn't the defense that lost them the game, they did everything they could to get Kentucky that major upset.

5. Pass Defense: B+

Carson Beck is considered one of the premier QBs in the SEC and he was limited to 160 yards passing. Only one receiver had more than two receptions in the game. Simply put, the Bulldogs could not get anything going consistently in the passing game. Why not an A? Because most of those big 3rd down conversions came on a clutch reception for the Bulldogs and they didn't get any sacks on the QB.

6. Rush Defense: A

Holding Trevor Etienne to only 79 yards on the ground is impressive and this defense should give themselves a good hearty pat on the back for that. The Bulldogs couldn't get anything consistently going on the ground and if it wasn't for one busted defensive play that allowed Etienne to scamber for 17 yards, the stats would look even better. Add three tackles for loss to their resume and it was a great day for the defensive line in the run stopping department.
