Kentucky is one step closer to securing a committment from a massive transfer target. On Tuesday, it was announced that Utah State wing Great Osobor will visit Kentucky.
According to On3.com's Joe Tipton, Osobor set four visits to Kentucky, Louisville, Texas Tech and Washington. His visit will be April 29- May 1st, the first of the four.
The 6-foot-8 forward was the Mountain West Player of the Year in his first season in the league, averaging 17.7 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.
Once he gets on campus, he may not want to leave. Osobor was actually high school teammates with new Kentucky commit Armari Williams in England and each player currently has the same agent.
So, this is significant. Obviously Osobor would fill a massive need for Kentucky alongside new commit Amari Williams, as the Wildcats need more help in the front court. Both Osobor and Williams are terrific at the rim while not being much of an outside threat. Their ability to rebound the ball, alone, is a reason to have both on the court at the same time.
This comes on the heels of former Kentucky signee Jayden Quaintance meeting with Mark Pope and eliminating Arkansas from his list.
Aaron Bradshaw, Zvonimir Ivisic and Ugonna Onyenso all depared from Kentucky after this season -- but with Williams in the fold and things developing with Osobor and Quaintance, it looks like that group will be just fine either way.
