Kentucky in the NBA is about as big of a brotherhood and fraternity as there is around the league and that remained true on Wednesday as the full roster for Team USA was released ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Three former Kentucky players were among the 12 players named to the roster. No other college had more former players on the team.
The trio included Anthony Davis, Devin Booker and Bam Adebayo.
This will be the second Olympics team for Davis -- a reserve member in 2012. He appeared in seven games, averaging 3.7 points and 2.7 rebounds a game. The 31-year old center is having one of the best years of his NBA career this season with the Los Angeles Lakers. He is averaging 24.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.3 blocks per game. The main reason for his increased production has been his health. Davis, who has always dealt with nagging injuries throughout his career, played a career-high 76 games this season.
This will also be the second olympic team for Bam Adebayo -- a member of the 2020 roster. Then, he averaged 6.3 points and 5.7 rebounds a game as a starter for Team USA. Adebayo is, again, having a very good season for the Miami Heat. He's averaging 19.3 points, 10.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. He is coming off of his second-straight All-Star selection.
Booker rounds out the trio and this will also be the second year with Team USA at the Olympics. He was a member of the 2020 Gold Medal winning squad with Adebayo. He averaged 9.3 points and shot 33.3 percent from three that summer. This year, Booker is having his second-straight 27+ point per game season, at 27.1 points per game. He's also averaging 4.5 rebounds, 6.9 assists and shooting 36.4 percent from three.
Training camp for Team USA begins July 6 in Las Vegas. The Paris Olympics are July 26-August 11, with Team USA getting play started on July 28.
