Third time's the charm! Mark Pope finally will be able to coach Kerr Kriisa as the West Virginia point guard announced his commitment to Kentucky on Wednesday.

Pope had pursued Kriisa twice before out of high school and when he transferred from Arizona to West Virginia.

Kriisa averaged a career-high 11.0 points per game this season while shooting a career-high 42.9 percent from the field. Kriisa also shot 42.4 percent on 2.7 made 3s per game -- both career-bests as well.

Kriisa added 4.7 assits and 2.5 rebounds per game.

Prior to West Virginia, Kriisa was much more of a game manager and saw his role to get his teammates involved more than himself. He averaged 9.4 points, 4.7 assists and shot 35.2 percent from three during his three years at Arizona.

In his last two years at Arizona, Kriisa ranked first and second in assists per game in the Pac-12.

He has started 93 games in 99 appearances across four seasons and won two Pac-12 Championships at Arizona.

Kriisa brings talent, yes. But, he's one of the most experienced and battle-tested point guards in the country and seems to have a bit of a chip on his shoulder after a disappointing seaon from a team perspective last year.

Kriisa is the second commitment for Kentucky on Wednesday, joining Dayton sharpshooter Koby Brea.

He is the seventh transfer this past week for Mark Pope and Kentucky.
