The Kentucky basketball program will be celebrating a time of greatness this weekend when they welcome back the 1983-84 Wildcats for what will surely be a great moment for fans. The Wildcats are waiting for the Georgia Bulldogs to come to town. It's a matchup that will be a typical SEC fistfight. However, the celebration of a former team could give the Rupp faithful the extra boost they need to deliver an incredible atmosphere.

The program will be giving out the posters in the above tweet or X, whatever you want to call that website these days. The 83-84 team had an incredible run to the Final Four that included wins over BYU, Illinois, and Louisville. Unfortunately, the Cats suffered a tough loss to the Georgetown Hoyas in Seattle, Washington, with a trip to the National Championship on the line. Still, this team is remembered by fans as one of the more fun groups ever to step on the floor in Lexington.

The team was led by numerous players that went on to the NBA. That list includes Melvin Turpin, Sam Bowie, Kenny 'Sky' Walker, and Winston Bennett. Unfrotunately the head coach of the Cats at the time, Joe B. Hall, passed back 2022. However, Hall's legacy will never be forgotten as the univeristy does an outstanding job celebrating the life and career of one of the most legendary coaches in college basketball history.
