John Calipari and his Kentucky Wildcats made quick work out of the Mississippi State Bulldogs in their 90-77 victory at Rupp Arena on Wednesday night. The victory moved the Wildcats to 3-1 in early SEC play, with a matchup with another bulldog in Georgia looming on Saturday. However, the victory over Mississippi State was more than just another win for Calipari.

Wednesday night's win was Calipari's 400th win as the head coach of the University of Kentucky. A significant milestone for the head man who took over a program desperate to return to glory back in the 2009-10. In his time with the program, Calipari has accomplished many outstanding achievements in his time in Lexington. Including a national title back in 2012.

However, when asked about the significant milestone win after the game, Calipari quickly shifted the conversation back to his players and becoming a better team. But no matter if he actually knew the milestone was coming soon or not, Calipari has left his mark on the most historic program in the history of college basketball. The good news is, he's not finished making history either.

Calipari only trails Adolph Rupp as the winningest coach in program history. Rupp won 876 games as the head man of the Wildcats. While that may seem like an impossible number for Calipari ever to reach, the hall-of-fame coach can rest easy knowing he is one of the greatest coaches of his era. Now, the Cats will put all their attention on taking down Georgia for Calipari's 401st win in his tenure with the program.
