After a terrific playing career, former Kentucky star Randall Cobb has hung up his cleats. The 13-year veteran will be retiring and already has his next venture planned out.

On Thursday it was announced that Cobb would be joining the SEC Network as a studio analyst for the upcoming season. He will appear on 'select editions' of SEC Now throughout the season in addition to 'Out of Pocket' Presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors

“I am incredibly excited to be coming home to the SEC with this new role,” Cobb said in a press release. “The level of greatness this conference provides year after year is unmatched – I cannot wait return to the conference family with this SEC Network crew.”

Cobb was a standout performer in Lexington where he totaled nearly 3,000 yards and 35 touchdowns across three seasons. He played quarterback, wide receiver and was also a punt return specailist.

He earned First-Team All-American honors as well as being named a two-time All-SEC First-Team performer as well.

Cobb played 13 years in the NFL, including 10 for the Green Bay Packers. He had over 7,600 career yards and 54 touchdowns. He was selected to the 2014 Pro Bowl.

His career led the way for his induction into the Kentucky Pro Sports Hall of Fame in 2023.

“We are thrilled to welcome Randall to the SEC Network crew,” said Pete Watters, SEC Network Coordinating Producer II.  “His experience and knowledge of the game, both from playing at Kentucky and in the NFL, will be such an asset to our football coverage.”
