The Kentucky Wildcats take on the Ole Miss Rebels on the road this week in Oxford, Mississippi. What should be no surprise to anyone is that the College Game Day pickers all chose Ole Miss to defeat Kentucky.

According to most sources, Kentucky is an 18-point underdog. Ole Miss has the number one offense in yards per game and the number one defense in yards against per game. They have yet to play a team that is better than average this year, but it is surely a feat for Kentucky to pull off the upset. No one is picking Kentucky, and hopefully, that's the chip Kentucky needs.

Desmond Howard was the first to pick between Ole Miss and Kentucky, and he was surprised that they were even picking this game. "I have Ole Miss big in this game. I was wondering if we were picking against the spread."

The last time Kentucky was heavy underdogs came against the top team in the nation, the Georgia Bulldogs, and they almost pulled off the upset. It came down to the final seconds, and it was a one-point difference. Georgia ultimately won that game 13-12, but it was a shock to the SEC and the nation, as Kentucky was doubted by everyone.

Kentucky's defense is solid and the 6th best in the nation in yards per game. They have played multiple great opponents unlike Ole Miss. There is a pathway for upsetting Ole Miss and I wrote about that here.

Kentucky and Ole Miss are both looking for their first SEC win. Kentucky has already played two SEC games against South Carolina and Georgia, the Wildcats are 0-2 in conference play. Ole Miss, on the other hand, has not yet played an SEC game. They have played Furman, Middle Tennessee, Wake Forest, and Georgia Southern. They have dominated all of them. Kentucky will have their work cut out for them to knock off Ole Miss.
