Boston Celtics' Jaylen Brown honors former Kentucky guard Terrence Clarke at Championship Parade

The Boston Celtics and Kentucky basketball program continue to be linked together and likely will for the rest of time -- unfortunately due to tragedy.
Three years following the sudden and devestating passing of Terrence Clarke, Boston Celtics wing Jaylen Brown made sure to honor him. During the Celtics' Championship Parade, Brown held up a Celtics Terrence Clarke jersey for the crowd to see.
Clarke, growing up outside of the Boston area, was a life-long Celtics fan -- his hometown team.
Ever since his passing, Jaylen Brown has been a frequent supporter of Clarke and his family, making sure to honor the former Kentucky guard in numerous ways. The Championship Parade was just the latest.
During the Dunk Contest this year, Brown wore Clarke's high school jersey as well.
Brown and Clarke had a relationship in the past and it's one that he wants to continue honoring moving forward.
“We have a saying that we like to say in our family, that is ‘Energy lasts forever.’ And as long as we keep to uphold his name and speak his name in high spirits, Terrence is still alive,” Brown said during a speech at the unveiling of the Vine Street Community Center court a few years ago. “And we’re gonna continue to honor him in the way that he needs to be honored. Terrence and me, we had a unique relationship. He was my little brother I never had.”
After playing one season with the Wildcats in 2020-21, Clarke was expected to be a first-round selection in the 2021 NBA Draft before the car crash that took his life just a few months prior to the draft. Because of that, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver made Clarke a ceremonial pick in 2021.
