5 head coaches Kentucky fans would dream of if John Calipari leaves

Kentucky's Round of 64 loss to Oakland felt like the end of an era, and if it truly was, then who could the Wildcats bring to Big Blue Nation as Coach Cal's successor?

Any time a big-time blue-blood moves on from its head coach, Brad Stevens has to be the first name that they call. We know that Indiana has done it and Kentucky should just call him up in Boston’s front office and see if he wants to get back on the sidelines.

While he didn’t have the track record of getting the level of talent Calipari regularly attracts, Stevens was an incredible coach on gamedays and was excellent at developing talent both in college and in the NBA. It’s been a while, but to make back-to-back runs to the National Championship Game at Butler, when it was still in the Horizon League, is something that had never been done before and will never be done again.

Stevens could be the best basketball mind in the world right now and at just 47 years old, he’s going to get the itch to come down from the front office and head back to the sidelines. Kentucky would be the perfect place to do it.
