Miami wing transfer Wooga Poplar is already a name on the Kentucky radar and is a name that Wildcat fans should know from last year.

Poplar averaged 13.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game last year, including a 19-point performance at Rupp against the Wildcats.

Poplar is likely to visit Kentucky, according to college basketball insider Adam Zagoria.

One reason for some hesitance with Poplar being a go-to option is the inconsistent play he showed down the stretch last season for Miami. He averaged 14.8 points while shooting 48.5 percent from the field and 46.4 percent from three in the first 18 games.

In the last 11 games, when the Hurricanes went 1-10, Poplar averaged just 10.2 points and shot just 33.1 percent from the floor and 26.6 percent from three.

Poplar has good size at 6-foot-5 and is a very fluid athlete. He scored 15+ points in 11 games and had at least one made 3 in 26 of the 29 games he pleyd.

Poplar is a guy who can create off of the bounce and is terrific in transition. With the pieces around Poplar, he's someone who could excel as the main option for Kentucky.
