3 stars from Kentucky basketball's heartbreaking loss to Florida
It was a heartbreaker, but the Wildcats fought until the end..
By Tyler Reed
2. Reed Sheppard
With the absence of DJ Wagner, freshman guard Reed Sheppard was tasked with leading the offense for the entire game. Sheppard played all 45 minutes, and gave everything he could for the team. The second-generation Wildcat flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 24 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. However, it was a defensive lapse by Sheppard in Florida's final possession of regulation that helped the Gators send the game into overtime. It wasn't just one defensive lapse that caused the loss, but this one certainly will stand out among the bunch.
