The college basketball world woke up to the massive news that the Los Angeles Lakers are targeting UConn head coach Dan Hurley as their top priority to replace Darvin Ham.

While conversations are still fluid, there seems to be real uncertainty about the future of Hurley in Storrs.

UConn is coming off of back-to-back National Championships and while Hurley has been open about his potential desire to coach in the NBA one day, the expectation was that day would not come soon.

If Hurley were to leave for the Lakers, the current UConn roster would have a 30-day window to enter the transfer portal. With a handful of extremely talented players on its current roster, could Kentucky take a look? Should they?

Kentucky has one open scholarship for the 2024-25 season at the moment. Mark Pope has been honest about his plan with his available scholarship and also the fact that he is comfortable going into the season with an open spot.

So, if Hurley leaves, here are three players Kentucky and Mark Pope should at least look into.
