Houston is not only young, but they have some really nice talent that are still likely a year or two away from hitting their prime.

Adding Reed Sheppard addresses a major need; shooting. The Rockets ranked 23rd last year in three-point percentage and are coming off of a 2023 Draft in which they selected Amen Thompson, a non-threat from three.

The Rockets have Thompson, Jalen Green and Fred VanVleet who all are players that need the ball in their hands to be successful. All three would benefit greatly from another knockdown shooter on the perimeter.

With Sheppard's ability to play on and off the ball, he brings value to an already heavy perimeter team who need additional ball handling help, however.

Sheppard is also a very team-first player and that's what the Rockets need right now in order to take the next step in their rebuild.
