. 3. 29. Draft. . . . . No. 4 and No. 8 Overall.

The Spurs are an intruging team because they need stability at the guard position and perimeter shooting ... and they have two top-10 picks.

The Spurs ranked 20th in 3-point percentage among reserves and 28th overall as a team, so Reed Sheppard's 52.1 percent this season would translate as a skill of need.

I think you likely see this potential pick at No. 8 and pair Sheppard with more of an on-ball type playmaking guard or wing with the 4th selection. Sheppard has the ability to play on the ball but not likely as a long-term point guard.

Pairing Sheppard as a three-point shooter on the wing with Victor Wembanyama would be a terrific combination.

Sheppard seems like a perfect system player for Greg Popovich and the typicaly guard that he's had during the Spurs' successful run in the early to mid 2010s. He plays defense, has a high IQ and can hit shots. What more could you want from a rookie and potential piece when building around a generational talent in Wembanyama?
