On Tuesday, Kentucky picked up a massive late addition to the 2024 recruiting class. The Cats landed former Michigan signee and 2024 four-star athlete Jaden Smith.

"“Jaden is very athletic, with the ability to play at multiple levels on defense,” Stoops said. “He’s an impact player and we are excited for the opportunity to add him to this dynamic class.”"

Smith ended up committing to Michigan over schools like Kentucky, USC, Virginia Tech, and others. His decision to request a release from his National Letter of Intent came after coaches like Chris Partridge, Jim Harbaugh, Jay Harbaugh, and Rick Minter left Michigan.

This is a massive addition for Kentucky in many ways. The first way was to be a potential player that could step in if he had to. The second way is that he is a massive piece for the future. Players like D’Eryk Jackson and Jamon Dumas Johnson will be graduating, and he will be a key piece for the 2025–26 season. Just like Quintavion Norman, Devin Smith, Jacob Smith, and Brian Robinson will be. The future in the linebacker room is super bright.
