Newport's own Irv Goode was a great guard in the NFL after his time at Kentucky. A backup lineman and long snapper for the 1973 Miami Dolphins, Goode took home a Super Bowl trophy after his team toppled the Vikings 24-7.

The 1972 Dolphins get all of the hype for going undefeated, but the following year's team was just as good (if not better) than their predecessor, and Goode was a factor in their improvement. He may not have reached the dazzling individual heights of others on this list, but he established himself as a formidable player in his own right over a 13 year career.
