Kentucky Football has rarely been in the NCAA limelight, but the Wildcats have still produced an incredible crop of professional talent.

Blanda played in the AFL days, well before the Houston Oilers boogied down broadway and became the Tennesee Titans, but his name is still etched in the franchise's history books. Leader of the famous Houston Oilers squad which made three straight trips to the AFL title game, Blanda was a winner through and through. While many of his records are broken now, he was the man to beat for many years in the 1950s, so it's no surprise he also made the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1981.

No matter what era a player comes from, setting the bar higher and higher is always the goal. Modern stats make some of Blanda's worse seasons look pedestrian, but very few ever reached the height of the game quite like him. Does he still have the record for most interceptions in a season? Sure. Does it stop him from being one of the very best players in NFL history? Absolutely not.
