Had the Kentucky Wildcats lost to Ole Miss on Saturday, countless people would be talking about this even more. However, thankfully, Kentucky was able to get the job done and post a strong win vs. the Rebels. However, things were far from perfect and we've got to bring up the officials.

Kentucky silences the noise and Ole Miss for 5th straight win

We hate to do it, but in the second half, Otega Oweh was called for a foul and it's something that people couldn't believe. At the time, the Wildcats were clinging to a small lead at Rupp Arena and nerves were quite high. Just what in the world did the officials see here? This should have never been called an 'and one' foul:

Kentucky star Otega Oweh was called for one of the worst fouls you'll ever see

You've actually got to be kidding with that one. Oweh had his body on him sure, but it was just textbook defense there. As you can see in the clip above, Ole Miss forward Corey Chest takes a dribble and then wraps his entire right arm around Oweh's body.

The whistle went off and people were probably convinced that Chest was going to be called for a hooking foul and that Kentucky would then get the ball. The opposite turned out to be the case and Mark Pope could not believe it either.

Luckily, Kentucky was able to overcome this terrible decision and the Wildcats posted a 72-63 win by the time things were all said and done. Oweh had a performance to remember, scoring 23 points. He was strong in this one, no doubt.

While there have been a ton of ups and downs for Kentucky and Pope this season, the win over Ole Miss in front of the home fans came in at the right time. With that said, the Oweh foul was a total joke. We expect better from the team in stripes. Let's hope things are cleaned up there moving forward, as blatant misses like this can't happen.
