Kentucky football had a room full of wide receivers, but really struggled to create separation. The room finished with just over 1600 yards, but 540 of those belonged to Kendrick Law. They return a young and talented room, unless we see portal exits. DJ Miller and Cam Miller both came on late, but a clear number 1 was needed. Enter Auburn transfer Malcom Simmons, who just set a visit with Will Stein and Kentucky.

Malcom Simmons burned bridges and screamed 'roll tide'

You don't roll tide if you are in Auburn, Alabama. Once it became clear Simmons would be leaving, he apparently hopped on Instagram with Alabama commit Cederian Morgan, where he told fans he would not step foot back in Auburn again, before ending with an enthusiastic roll tide.

That definitely ended that journey, but before that, he apparently ghosted Auburn's new staff after they hired Alex Golesh. That doesn't scream maturity. There is a right way to handle leaving a program, but who knows what went on behind closed doors?

What is certain is that Malcom Simmons has a lot of talent and Kentucky is deeply interested. According to Hayes Fawcett, Simmons is going to visit Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Kentucky.

Malcom Simmons has unique track background that he could bring to Kentucky

There is another dimension that Simmons has as well. He is a former Alabama state champion in the high jump and long jump. That translated into solid, but not spectacular, production while at Auburn. He finished with 65 receptions and 908 yards with 5 TDs. He also added 55 rush yards and 1 more TD on the ground. On a tantalizing 91-yard catch, Simmons showed how elite he can be. But he has struggled with drops at times, something that will need to be corrected wherever he ends up.

You can see from some highlights the breakaway speed that he can bring to an offense:

Now Kentucky will try and get a signature from the 10th ranked WR in the portal.
