The Kentucky volleyball team continues to roll through the SEC, earning its ninth straight win after a dominant sweep of LSU at the Maravich Center in Baton Rouge. The Cats improved to 12-2 overall and 5-0 in conference play, looking every bit like a team on a mission to keep the SEC crown.

DeLeye leads a balanced attack

Behind another standout night from Brooklyn DeLeye, who posted 20 kills on .326 hitting, Kentucky controlled the match from start to finish. DeLeye added 11 digs and two block assists for 22 total points, pacing a balanced attack that overwhelmed LSU’s defense.

Setter Kassie O’Brien was brilliant, dishing out 40 assists while chipping in six digs. Eva Hudson delivered a double-double with 10 kills and 15 digs, and Lizzie Carr added six kills and four crucial blocks.

Dominant from start to finish

The Wildcats were in control throughout, winning in three straight sets (25–22, 25–18, 25–23) in front of a crowd of over 2,000. They hit .211 as a team while holding LSU to .167 and out-dug the Tigers 73-65.

Kentucky’s serve-receive was sharp, anchored by Molly Tuozzo and Molly Berezowitz, who combined for 25 digs and a stellar .928 reception percentage.

Undefeated in the SEC

With the win, Kentucky remains one of only two undefeated teams in SEC play. The Wildcats now return home to face Missouri and Arkansas, both teams chasing them in the standings.

Texas is at the top with their undefeated 6-0 record, followed by Kentucky who is 5-0. Texas A&M and Tennessee both have 1 loss. The Cats and the Longhorns will tussle only once in the regular season, Sunday November 2nd down in Austin. Both teams could very well still be undefeated when it rolls around.

If this group keeps passing and defending like this, a deep postseason run isn’t just possible, it’s inevitable.
