Craig Skinner picked up a big addition to his volleyball roster today with a transfer from Purdue in Lizzie Carr. He posted a gif of him celebrating in the volleyball locker room on X yesterday, and speculation about who was coming began to pour in. A few thought it could be a transfer from Purdue, but one in particular stood out: the sister of basketball star Andrew Carr.

Kentucky volleyball was very good this year and went on an Elite Eight run with a loaded roster of tons of young talent. However, with a few seniors departing for graduation, Skinner needed to add a few more stars to add to his young core for a deeper run next year. The addition of Lizzie Carr is big, and not just because she measures 6'6" but because she is one of the better middle blockers in the country.

Purdue lost three different stars to the portal already, and there are some who are hoping Carr may bring another one with her. Kentucky is reloading and now is the time to bring in veteran savviness and tournament experience. Purdue went to the Sweet 16 this year but lost to Louisville. They were one of the best teams in the Big 10 this season.

Kentucky and Purdue met earlier in the year, and the Boilermakers actually came out on top of that matchup. Carr didn't play in that matchup, but she did finish the year with 73 kills and a .301 hit percentage, which is elite. She is also will be part of that young core as she will only be coming into her junior year for next season.

She follows her brother to Kentucky, as Andrew is a star on the basketball court. The two of them add a ton of height and athletic dominance to two important sports at Kentucky: basketball and volleyball.
