The Kentucky Wildcats are rounding into form just in time for the postseason.
At the historic Drake Relays this weekend in Des Moines, Iowa, Kentucky track and field delivered a powerful statement, headlined by standout performances in the women’s hurdles and relays.
The Wildcats wasted no time putting their stamp on the meet, grabbing a win in the women’s shuttle hurdles relay with a time of 54.31. It set the tone for another impressive day for Kentucky’s hurdlers.
Senior star Alexis Glasco led the charge once again, claiming victory in the women’s 100-meter hurdles final with a time of 13.32. Glasco wasn’t alone at the top — Emmi Scales (13.37) and Camden Bentley (13.44) finished second and third, sweeping the podium for Kentucky and flexing the depth of the program’s hurdles group. Kori Martin, who set a personal best in the prelims (13.47), placed eighth in the final.
Kentucky also brought home hardware on the men's side, where Devin Sealey soared to a personal best in the high jump, clearing 2.12 meters (6-11.5) to win the event.
Elsewhere on the track, the Wildcats continued to impress with a first-place finish in the women’s 4x200-meter relay, clocking a season-best 1:34.45, which now ranks second nationally. The women’s 4x800m relay finished a strong fourth, while the women’s sprint medley relay (SMR) earned a third-place finish, recording the fifth-fastest time in Kentucky history at 3:49.02.
The women’s 4x400m relay capped off the weekend with a second-place showing, crossing the line at 3:35.24.
While there were a few tough moments — including a did not finish (DNF) in the women’s 4x100m and a DNF for Victoria Perrow in the 100m — the weekend overwhelmingly showcased a Kentucky team that's finding its rhythm across multiple events.
What’s next?
The Wildcats now return home to Lexington to close out the regular season with a two-meet homestand. First up is the Jim Green Invitational on May 2–3 at Shively Track and Field Stadium, offering one more tune-up before the championship season begins.
With momentum on their side and top times stacking up, Kentucky is shaping up to be a serious contender in May.
