Kentucky set as the latest name in a viral string of WWE collaborations

One of the hottest names in the WWE is taking a trip to Lexington for a one-of-a-kind collaboration.

Collaborations happen all the time in the entertainment industry, some better than others. But this one has the potential to break the internet. The University of Kentucky has announced that a new collaboration featuring rising WWE star Danhausen is just broke loose (per Kentucky Athletics), with fans in both camps cheering on the union from behind the ropes.

Are there two more intense fanbases than kids who love wrestling and BBN? I wouldn't think so.

If you're not looped in on the professional wrestling side of things, you may not know who Danhausen is. He's a comedy wrestler; a throwback to a personality like Doink the Clown. He paints his face, talks in an accent, pretends that twins are clones, and looks like he would be on the couch sitting beside Elvira during a C-movie marathon.

It's an absurd concept from the outside looking in, but somehow it all works.

Danhausen's Curse

He recently cloned himself (his words), and his most famous thing is, well, cursing people. He put a curse on ESPN's Stephen A. Smith, which caused the Knicks to fall behind 2-1 to the Atlanta Hawks. The clip naturally went viral.

The only way to break a curse is with "human monies," according to Danhausen, and that's exactly what a Knicks fan did. They bought a Cameo video from Danhausen, had him reverse the Knicks curse, and then curse the Hawks. The Knicks have won eight straight playoff games since, including coming back from 22 down in a historic win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Danhausen debuted earlier this year, and he's since taken the internet by storm and been among the highest merchandise movers in the WWE. He's constantly coming out with new shirts and phrases and all sorts of marketable stuff, and fans are eating it up.

Having that kind of fresh star power involved with Kentucky Basketball is a good thing, as weird as it may seem. Kentucky didn't reveal more than teasing Danhausen's slogan initially, "Very nice. Very evil," before dropping the shirt today in a follow-up post.

Adding a blue and white-specific bit of merch to Danhausen's long line of product is a fun offseason treat for Cats fans waiting on the roster to come together.

Maybe we can all come together and get the "human monies" together for Danhausen to reverse the 14-loss curse that last season set on Kentucky Basketball.
