Kentucky football has been steamrolling through the transfer portal since losing the opening wave of losses. They have added impressive pieces and very intentional players to the 2025 roster. One major focus area was creating more quarterback pressure, especially with the losses of JJ Weaver (graduation) and Jamon Dumas-Johnson (graduation/NFL). Those two alone accounted for 8.5 of the Kentucky 24 sacks on the season.

Indications are that one of the best edge players in the portal is leaning toward Kentucky. Pete Nakos, one of the transfer portal experts for On3.com, predicted that Kameron Olds would choose to be a Wildcat.

Kameron Olds is one of the top edge players in the portal right now and has interest from all sorts of locations. He even had two visits this last weekend to SEC schools: Kentucky and Ole Miss. Kameron Olds was a disrupter on the Kent State defense. He had 42 tackles, 25 of them solo, six sacks, and an interception. He is fast and can even cover in space. His specialty is causing chaos in the backfield, and that's what role the Kentucky Wildcats would need from him.

This would be Olds third stop as he started his career as a 3-star prospect at Buffalo, where he barely played and struggled to create any of the chaos he is known for. He transferred to Kent State, where opportunity and development sent him on a path where he is being courted by big-time schools looking for a player of his caliber.

He has three years of football under his belt, so he will only have one year to make a name in the SEC, and head coach Mark Stoops is hoping he picks Kentucky over Ole Miss. After both of his visits this weekend, many are predicting he will be a Wildcat.
