The stage is set for Kentucky Gymnastics as they head to the 2025 SEC Gymnastics Championship at Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama, on March 22nd. This one-day event will showcase the top eight teams in the Southeastern Conference, determined by their National Qualifying Score (NQS).
Championship Format
The competition will be divided into two sessions, with Seeds 5-8 competing in the afternoon and Seeds 1-4 in the evening. Kentucky, the No. 5 seed, will be featured in the first session, set to air on SEC Network at 2:30 p.m. CT.
Session I: Seeds 5-8
Kentucky will be joined by No. 6 seed Georgia, No. 7 seed Auburn, and No. 8 seed Alabama. The rotation order will see Kentucky starting on vault, followed by bars, beam, and floor. Alabama begins on floor, Auburn on beam, and Georgia on bars.
Notably, Arkansas did not qualify for the competition, finishing ninth according to the NQS.
Session II: Seeds 1-4
The evening session will feature the top-ranked teams: No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 2 LSU, No. 3 Florida, and No. 4 Missouri. They will begin at 7:00 p.m. CT on SEC Network.
Oklahoma will start on vault, LSU on bars, Missouri on beam, and Florida on floor. The rotation will continue until all teams have competed on each apparatus.
Kentucky’s Path to Victory
The Wildcats will look to put up a strong performance across all events. As the top seed in Session I, they aim to post a high score to set the bar for the evening session’s competition. The team will need to excel particularly in rotations on the beam and floor to maximize their scoring potential as they are usually very good on vault.
