The Kentucky Wildcats will end their season in the Governor's Cup against in-state rival Louisville. While they still have to play against the Texas Longhorns this weekend to close out their SEC play. The early odds are out for the Kentucky vs. Louisville game, and it's not favorable for the Wildcats.
According to FanDuel, the early odds that came in on Thursday are set at 3.5 in favor of Louisville. This shouldn't be a huge surprise as Louisville has floated in and out of the top 25 throughout the season, and Kentucky has drifted to the bottom since their win over Ole Miss. It's been a downhill slide since then. However, this is closer than many anticipated, partly because no one is quite sure how the Wildcats will show up. Will they be the team that beat Ole Miss or hung tough with Georgia and Tennessee? Or will they be the team that got walloped by Florida or South Carolina?
FanDuel has also set the over/under at 48.5 in the early stages of the odds setting, which means they don't expect it to be a high-scoring affair. Using the line and the odds, this should put the final score around 27-23.
There are lots of predictions about how this game goes and how the season ends for the Wildcats. It actually feels like a game head coach, Mark Stoops, will win. He has won 5 straight over the Cardinals, and it just feels like he will want this season to end on a high note and actually get his Wildcats ready and up for it. That being said, this is the time for the Cardinals to bounce and flip that win streak.
Score Prediction
Kentucky - 30
Louisville - 24
