Kentucky football will be seeking its third consecutive win Saturday afternoon as the Wildcats host undefeated No. 8-ranked Tennessee Tech, one of the top teams in the FCS. It’s not a name that strikes fear, but the Golden Eagles are rolling, and Mark Stoops’ team can’t afford a step back with bowl eligibility still hanging in the balance.
After beating Auburn on the road and dominating Florida at home, Kroger Field suddenly feels alive again. Those two victories snapped a 10-game SEC losing streak and a 10-game home SEC losing streak, giving the Wildcats real momentum for the first time in over a year.
A win Saturday would mark Kentucky’s first three-game streak since the 2023 season when the Cats opened 5–0.
The schools have met just once, back in 1951. But Tennessee Tech’s ranking and discipline make them a tougher out than most lower-division visitors. The Golden Eagles are unbeaten for a reason. They can run the football, they take care of the ball, and they play clean, all traits that tend to give FBS teams headaches.
Kentucky vs. Tennessee Tech: How to watch, odds, and weather
- How to Watch: Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. ET on SEC Network+, another stream-only broadcast. YAY. You’ll need an ESPN+ or ESPN app subscription through your cable, satellite, or streaming provider.
- The YouTube TV problem: For fans using YouTube TV, you’ll need a backup plan. The ongoing dispute between Disney and YouTube TV (dating back to October 30) means ESPN content remains unavailable. The best workaround is a short-term streaming option such as Sling TV’s daily pass, which offers ESPN access for roughly six dollars a day.
- Weather: If you’re heading to Kroger Field, you couldn’t ask for a better forecast. Temperatures will sit in the upper 60s at kickoff with light winds and clear skies, near-perfect conditions for mid-November football.
- Odds: Kentucky opens as a heavy 20.5-point favorite (–105), with the moneyline at –1700. The over/under is set at 52.5 points over at FanDuel.
The Wildcats are a three-touchdown favorite, but if the secondary looks anything like it did in September, this could linger longer than it should.
