Queue Ice Cube, because today has indeed been a good day. The Cats entered the day with 6 commitments, and we aren't at dinner time yet, and it is up to 9. That is what you call a productive day in the college football world.

But it's not just the quantity that should excite you, no, it is the quality of the player that Will Stein and Kentucky keep targeting and then landing that should have BBN ready for football season.

Kentucky football lands Jovantae Barnes, Max Anderson, and Aaron Gates

Let's take a look at the 3 guys that Will Stein has convinced to sign on the dotted line today.

1. Jovantae Barnes

A former top 200 running back in the class of 2022, Barnes has dealt with some injury issues in his college career. But when he is healthy, he is an explosive do-it-all back that runs a 4.5 40 and handles blocking duties like a champ. In 2 healthy seasons at Oklahoma averaged 4.6 YPC and had over 1000 yards.

2. Max Anderson

Something feels right when someone leaves that ugly orange behind and puts on the blue and white. It restores balance to the universe. Max Anderson did his part earlier today when the IOL decided to join Kentucky. Played in 5A down in Texas as both a tackle and an interior offensive lineman. Can line up in a few spots along the front, and does them all pretty well. 6'5 311-pound frame that will help push people around. Another brick in the wall, folks.

3. Aaron Gates

It's like Will Stein heard us say that Kentucky was getting thin at the DB position or something. Aaron Gates comes to Kentucky from Florida, where he had 35 tackles, 3 pass deflections, 3 fumble recoveries, and 1 INT across 3 seasons, of which one was a redshirt year. At just over 6 feet and right at 200 pounds, he is the ideal size for most modern defensive backs.

And the hits keep coming, folks. As we are typing this, there is probably something else breaking out somewhere.

Silly season has been fun this year, and it is not over yet.
