Hire an offensive coach, get 4 straight defensive players. Not that we're complaining, Kentucky needed a lot of help on the defensive side of the ball, and so far, they have got it. And it just got better, LSU DL Ahmad Breaux confirmed to KSR that he will be joining Jay Bateman in Lexington.

This adds to the portal haul of Arkansas LB Tavion Wallace, Western Carolina CB Hasaan Sykes, and Gardner-Webb EDGE Antonio O'Berry. Kentucky seems to be having a little more success on the defensive side of the ball early on in the portal window.

Ahmad Breaux had quite the glow up at LSU

When Ahmad arrived in Baton Rouge, he was planning on playing at the OLB/EDGE position. He was fresh off a Louisiana State title, helping his school getting their first win since 1990. He had a really productive off-season before the season, and has put on a total of around 40 pounds since arriving on campus, moving to an inside position.

Appeared in 13 games with 2 starts as part of his LSU's Defensive Freshman of the Year performance. Then, as a sophomore played in 12 games, getting 19 tackles and earning his first half-sack.

Breaux had been in Lexington over the weekend with his mother, and they must have really liked what they saw. He chose Kentucky over interest from Arkansas, among other teams. He will have two years of eligibility remaining after joining up with new DC Jay Bateman in Lexington.

Kentucky appears to really be honing in on guys along the defensive front as a priority, which is good for a program that has struggled defensively the last few years.

What is next for Kentucky football

All eyes continue to be on Sam Leavitt watch. He will visit LSU and Lane Kiffin later this week, as Kentucky is bringing in Elon QB Landen Clark and Auburn's Ashton Daniels on visits. Stay tuned to the portal tracker for the latest news
