Mark Stoops provides the latest status on standout transfer Mi’Quise Humphrey-Grace and clarifies the situation with running back Jamarion Wilcox.
As Kentucky prepares for its pivotal SEC matchup against Ole Miss, the health of a few key players remains a top concern. Head Coach Mark Stoops provided an update on Monday, stating that overall, his team is in “decent shape” following an ugly but physical win over Toledo.
The most notable player on the report is defensive lineman Mi’Quise Humphrey-Grace. The transfer from South Dakota, who was the 2024 Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year after recording 9.5 sacks, was seen in a walking boot after Saturday's game. His presence is considered vital for Kentucky's pass rush. UKathletics notes:
Transferred to Kentucky after three seasons at South Dakota where he had:
• 16 starts in 31 career games
• Totaled 101 career tackles, 26.0 tackles for loss and 15.0 sacks
• Also has nine passes defended, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries

“We’ll see,” Stoops said of his status. “He’s day to day. We got a lower body, little ankle, but we’ll see.”
Meanwhile, the status of running back Jamarion Wilcox remains unchanged. While reports have surfaced of a domestic violence case scheduled for court this Wednesday, the university cannot comment on such matters. Stoops was asked again about the team's 2024 leading rusher and held the official line.
“I don’t have anything. The status has not changed, so I really cannot comment on that anymore,” the head coach said.
Overall though, the coach doesn't seem too concerned with the health of his team heading into the showdown with Ole Miss.
