The University of North Carolina announced today that Mack Brown has been fired as the head coach of the Tar Heels. This is one of the first major firings in college football. While there have been other coaches let go, none yet at the level of North Carolina. It's a sign of more to come, and Kentucky fans are starting to dream that maybe Kentucky will follow suit despite the $44 million school buy-out.

A second idea came up among Big Blue Nation. It's a solution for North Carolina: What if the Tar Heels hire Mark Stoops as their next head coach? Many Kentucky fans tossed out this idea, and even more supported it.

While fans are mostly just living in a pipe dream about reality and sending their coach to a rival school, but it continues to show the sentiment of the Kentucky fanbase, which wants to see a change in the coaching ranks. Many believe that Stoops has done really good things here, but he's not able to bring the team any further.

After a 4-7 overall record, missing a bowl game after 8 straight trips, and only winning one SEC game, Kentucky fans are feeling like the doormat of the SEC, and they are ready for a new face to take over the program.

It doesn't help that there is an alumnus who is one of the hottest rising coaches in college football, Jon Sumrall. He did so great at Troy that he was swooped up by Tulane, and now he has Tulane in the rankings, even with a chance to get them into the College Football Playoff. Kentucky fans know that he would strongly consider coming to Lexington, especially as he played football for the Wildcats. It would be a dream scenario for many to send Stoops packing (even to UNC) and hire in Sumrall.
