Netflix filmed a documentary on the SEC's 2024 season and Kentucky was part of it.

Netflix announced today that they will be releasing a new exclusive series featuring 2024 SEC football, which claims to have unfiltered access to players and coaches. Kentucky is one of those teams, much to the chagrin of Kentucky fans, as it will be reliving one of the most frustrating and disappointing seasons in recent memory.

"“A Netflix Sports series following the 2024 SEC college football season is coming Summer 2025. Providing unfiltered access to coaches and players in college football’s most dominant conference and giving an exclusive look at key matchups throughout the season.”"

The problem for Kentucky fans is not that you will have to rewatch a terrible season for the Wildcats. It's that they were on campus filming two of the worst games. According to KSR, Netflix crews were on campus for the South Carolina and Louisville games. Netflix will memorialize Kentucky's first and last embarrassing losses; real cool.

As a fan, you can choose not to watch, but there might be something in there that also validates you as the fan and your stance. Say you don't want Mark Stoops to be around, and you may see that he truly is not a great leader. Or maybe you think he is the right guy, and you believe his narrative is that it was a bad set of players with a poor mix of culture. Or even his storyline of "it was just one bad season." Netflix may give you some of that "exclusive" it promises.

While the whole season won't be about Kentucky football, and it will probably be only featured here and there, it will be an episode-by-episode reminder of being back at the bottom of the SEC. There is a silver lining: Netflix has to pay athletes featured for their roles in the documentary. This will be good for any Kentucky player who got to be a part of it.
