Kentucky football is in a dark place as they head to face their rival, the Tennessee Volunteers. The theme for the evening is "dark mode," as Neyland Stadium is pushing for a blackout crowd, and the players will be wearing black uniforms with orange accents. The dark mode feeling is exactly how most Kentucky fans are feeling before the game tonight.

The programs truly seem to be going in opposite directions. While Kentucky has been falling apart since its upset of Ole Miss, Tennessee continues to make a strong case for the College Football Playoffs. It is currently ranked #7 in the nation.

As media outlets begin to submit their predictions, very few see things as close. KSR did their predictions, and no one picked Kentucky to win, but Wildcats fans felt like the scores were generous to Kentucky.

This is wild because only two of them picked Kentucky to score double-digit points. However, many Kentucky fans are struggling to find hope in this game. That being said, there are a few hopeless optimists, even one media person picking the Wildcats to win: Mario Maitland of Kentucky Sports Radio.

He's not the only one, as Nick Roush is finding a scenario in which Kentucky wins. However, most fans are scorning him for his optimism.

While most Kentucky fans are miserably waiting for game time and expecting the worst. With the hopes of maybe a coaching change on the horizon or some instilled up. You have to love the few people who can see a glimmer of hope. Those that think Ole Miss doubted us, and look what we did. Those that remind others that head coach Mark Stoops is at his best when his back is against the wall. Because of these things, maybe, just maybe, Kentucky can pull it off. Shout out to you optimists, for it's hard to see the sun when it's nighttime. It's hard to see the light when everything goes into dark mode.
