Kentucky’s Kerr Kriisa is on the move again.
After a brief but memorable stint in Lexington, the veteran guard is entering the transfer portal to find a program where he can take on a larger role in his final year of college basketball. According to KSR, the decision was mutual.
Kriisa released a statment to UK fans saying "I will always cherish my time in the bluegrass state". His full statement can be found here
And just like that, his time as a Wildcat comes to an end.
🔹 A Career Cut Short in Lexington
Kriisa’s time at Kentucky was filled with energy, fire, and unfortunate setbacks. His final game in a Wildcat uniform? A gutsy, unforgettable performance in a December win against Gonzaga, where he suffered a Jones fracture yet still hustled back on defense before exiting for good.
That moment was Kriisa in a nutshell—tough, competitive, and willing to do anything for his team.
Unfortunately, that injury derailed his season before he could ever find a rhythm. He played in just nine games, averaging 4.4 points and 3.8 assists per contest while struggling with his shot (27.9% from the field, 26.3% from three). It was a stark contrast to his productive seasons at Arizona and West Virginia, where he was a reliable playmaker and perimeter threat.
🔥 More Than Just a Player
Even though Kriisa’s impact on the court was limited, his presence in the locker room and from the bench was unmistakable.
He was the heartbeat of Kentucky’s energy, delivering "spicy" pregame speeches that fired up his teammates and keeping the sideline animated with every big play.
Kentucky fans never got to see the full version of Kriisa in blue and white, but his passion and leadership left a mark.
🔄 What’s Next for Kriisa?
Now, the well-traveled guard is looking for a fresh start in his fifth and final season. Where he lands next remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: he wants a bigger role, and he’ll find a program willing to give him exactly that.
As for Kentucky, Mark Pope’s roster rebuild continues. With several key returners and transfer targets in the mix, the Wildcats will be just fine—but they’ll certainly miss Kriisa’s edge and enthusiasm.
His time in Lexington was short, but it was memorable. And wherever he goes next, you can bet he’ll bring the same fire that made him a fan favorite—even in just nine games.
