Kentucky basketball's ugly 7-game stretch has BBN feeling blue

It hasn't been pretty folk.

Kentucky had everything in front of them; they needed to beat Texas A&M. They were up 30-18, and they were throttled by the Aggies. Somehow, though, the Cats could still secure a double bye in the SEC Tournament. They had to beat Florida, but it was at home. There should have at least been a good effort.

Well there wasn't, until it was far too late.

BBN releases frustration at a roster that should have been better

Yes, there were injuries and that impacted this team. but that doesn't impact your effort. And far too many times this team just doesn't have it. Losing to Missouri and Georgia at home is unacceptable.

When you have announcers taking pot shots at your roster, you know things are going badly and that's what happened when Dick Vitale said BBN deserved better.

I can't remember the last time I have heard boos directed towards Kentucky on Senior Day.

Some fans have seen enough. After 16 SEC losses in 2 years and countless blow outs, there is a significant portion of the Kentucky fanbase that has just seen enough of Mark Pope. They wanted him to be successful, but they just don't see it.

Even when the Cats start to get a little something going, they get in their own way.

Some people are happy with Mark Pope, but they believe he needs more help building the roster.

It is easy to forget that just a year ago, Mark Pope overachieved with a group of players they had to throw together. But in today's world of NIL and roster turnover, you can't have this disappointing of a year. It's not just the losses, it's how they lose.

There are just too many big defeats, bad losses at home, and just a general question of their effort.

Then all of a sudden, Kentucky had it down to 5 with under a minute to go, the pressure forced Urban Klavzar to step out of bounds, but the refs missed it.

Now the Cats face an SEC Tournament and then the NCAA Tournament, losing 2 straight and 5 of its last 7. Can they actually make a run?
