The Kentucky Wildcats Men's Basketball team held their first Pro Day under new Head Coach Mark Pope yesterday. Over 30 NBA scouts were in attendance, and it was the first opportunity for the press and fans (on TV) to watch this new-look basketball squad.

They were impressive in so many ways. The depth and experience alone are going to give Pope's Wildcats a chance to make a deep run in the SEC and NCAA. Everyone who has had a chance to get an early look at this squad has said they look like a tournament team. One thing in particular that stood out at the Pro Day yesterday was the impressive display of shooting.

In an interview with the SEC Network, Koby Brea said that Mark Pope has been coaching the team up on threes. They are going to be shooting them all game long, and he wants to lead the nation in three-point attempts (and made).

This would sound like a crazy philosophy if it was just said in a vacuum, but Pope brought in an impressive roster full of shooters—consistent and impressive from deep. In one video posted from the Pro Day, Kentucky went 27-36 from one spot on the floor, just making it over and over and over.

In fact, many press members said Kentucky couldn't miss. They were constantly making shots, most from deep.  Matt Jones from Kentucky Sports Radio said, "I watched Andrew Carr and Travis Perry shoot Threes for four minutes straight and didn’t see either one of them miss."

This team is loaded with three-point shooters, from the point guard to the power forward. They can stretch the floor, move the ball, and find their open three. It sounds as if shooting and making threes will be one of their main goals this season.
