Injuries happen. Kentucky fans know that better than anyone right now. And yeah, it is frustrating for fans and for players too. We all want to see this team at full strength for a Final Four run. But what we are not going to do is use another player's injury to take shots at our own guy.
Jayden Quaintance is a physical freak, but biology is biology. He tore his ACL last January. He worked his way back. And now, he has missed the last month because the knee flared up with swelling. Mark Pope took to the podium yesterday to update the situation, and the message was clear: JQ is working, but the knee isn't cooperating yet.
That should be the end of the story. Instead, some fans decided to use Caleb Wilson as a weapon against him.
The Caleb Wilson comparison
This got ugly yesterday when the UNC star freshman, who has been an absolute monster, averaging 19.8 points and 9.4 rebounds, announced he is out indefinitely with a hand injury.
Wilson took to X to share a message:
"I am grateful for whatever God is trying to tell me through this injury!!! I will be back, Tarheel Nation… I LOVE THIS TEAM AND PROGRAM #StayTuned"
It was a great message from a great player at a time when the fanbase is worried about losing its star. But of course, a "Kentucky Fan" had to reply with this:
"Props for staying connected with the fans and informing them you're working towards a return. This is a dude who cares."

Stop it.
Just because Jayden Quaintance isn't posting paragraphs on Twitter doesn't mean he doesn't care.
Just because he is protecting his future by not playing on a swollen, surgically repaired knee doesn't mean he has quit on the team.
Caleb Wilson hurt his hand. JQ is dealing with a structural knee issue that could alter his entire career if he rushes it.
Comparing the two is ridiculous. Support the players who are wearing the Kentucky jersey. Don't use rival players to take cheap shots at your own guys, what are we even doing?
